The past year was very productive for MZKT in terms of developing and launching new unique heavy-duty chassis for the company's target segments. And we are rounding off the year with a new product for the passenger transport industry.
So, today, several of our customers have become owners of updated Neman-420423-501 buses in suburban version.
The key differences of the novelty are related to the replacement of the previously used imported chassis with its own. When designing the product, the designers tried to preserve the recognisability and individuality of the Neman bus as much as possible. Previous experience of buses and customer feedback was also taken into account, which helped to retain the most successful and time-tested technical solutions. It is important to note that the share of domestic components and materials used in the new product has increased significantly, which should have a positive impact on their availability.
The new vehicle is driven by a turbo-diesel 4-cylinder engine of EURO-5 ecological class, with a capacity of 4.1 litres, paired with a six-speed manual transmission. The engine power is 185 hp and the maximum speed of the bus is 100 km/h. The fuel tank is now 15 litres larger with a capacity of 130 litres.
In the cabin, 29 separate folding seats with armrests and three-point seat belts are responsible for passenger comfort. The full passenger capacity of the new suburban Neman-420423-501 is 39 people. The roof of the bus has a sunroof and a fan, and the tinted single-type windows are fitted with three ventilators. There is another window next to the driver's area. Also, the cabin is equipped with side window curtains. Two built-in convectors and two car heaters will provide a comfortable temperature during the cold season. Entry to the cabin is via the electrically operated single leaf front door. The rear door is for emergency cases, it is not power-driven (manual operations only). The driver's seat side windows and side mirrors are electrically heated, and they are also electrically operated.
The bus designers have found a possibility to place two luggage compartments (total capacity 0.4 m³) on the right side of the body and a full luggage compartment with a capacity of 1.6 m³ in its rear. Moreover, the spare wheel no longer holds space in the rear luggage compartment, but is now located in a separate compartment on the left side of the body. Access to the rear luggage compartment has become more convenient and is provided by opening the luggage hatch with an upward-sliding hatch parallel to the bodywork.
The spare parts warehouse is currently being actively filled. A network of authorised service stations has been established in various regions of Belarus to provide warranty and post-warranty support.
