VOLAT — A RELIABLE BASIS FOR THE RUSSIAN HYDROFRAC FLEET

VOLAT — A RELIABLE BASIS FOR THE RUSSIAN HYDROFRAC FLEET

The ceremonial launch of serial production of the first fully domestically produced hydraulic fracturing fleet took place at the MeKaMineft production base in Megion (Yugra, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug).

In August 2025 a batch of MZKT-750005-010 unique five-axle all-wheel drive chassis (wheel arrangement 10x10) was shipped to partners in the Rosflot project. All equipment travelled over 4,000 km under its own power and arrived at the installation site, thereby confirming the high quality and reliability of the assembly.

The MZKT-750005-010 chassis is designed for mounting hydrofrac equipment (HF) – a key technology in modern oil production. Carrying capacity of up to 42 tons combined with five-axle all-wheel drive ensures high cross-country ability on difficult routes and unlimited mobility. A key competitive advantage is the chassis configuration, which allows the vehicle to travel on public roads without requiring special permits, which is critical when frequently changing work sites.

At customer request, the chassis is equipped with a two-seater all-metal cabin with two berths. For comfort on long hauls, the following is provided: pre-start fluid engine heater, independent cabin heater, air conditioning, radio, USB ports, electric windows, central locking and electric-driven mirrors. The driver and passenger seats have air suspension, which guarantees comfort even during multi-kilometre stretches between objects.

The Rosflot project is a striking example of the synergy between defence science, oilfield services and mechanical engineering. The Moscow Institute of Thermal Engineering provided the development and production of high-tech equipment, while the industrial implementation of engineering solutions was supported by the R-Factor plant. The chassis of the Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant served as the transport base for the equipment. As noted at the ceremony, a key element in the fleet development was the partnership with Belarusian manufacturers, which provided a reliable and maintainable base for operations in the challenging road and climatic conditions of Russian oil fields.
