Some days ago, the new unique chassis MZKT-830001-010 rolled out of the Company’s assembly shop.This is a special-purpose all-wheel drive five-axis chassis whose chief feature is the frame design incorporating a superframe and a subframe. The subframe hosts most of the chassis assemblies which gives the customer complete freedom of choice of rigs that are mounted on the superframe. The frame has an opening (the so-called cut) intended for the installation of coil-tubing equipment. One of the elements of a coil-tubing station is the winding unit (a drum with a flexible pipe). The ability to extend the chassis frame apart makes it possible to use a larger diameter drum which could hold a more flexible pipe or use a more durable and efficient pipe with thicker walls. This expands the product’s area of application.
The MZKT-830001-010 chassis uses own-built axles of increased bearing capacity. The vehicle which has the fully loaded weight of 74 tons is able to carry equipment weighing up to 50 tons. The suspension of the two front axles is of rigid-axle hydro-pneumatic type, and that of the three rear axles – of rigid-axle pneumatic equalizing lever type.
The vehicle is driven by a 420 hp diesel engine paired with an own-built mechanical manual transmission. Between the gearbox and the transfer gear, a geared torque divider is located. The directs some of the engine power either to the transmission or to the customer's equipment driveline. The chassis carries two 500-liter fuel tanks that support switchover, as well as a central tire inflation system controlled from the driver cabin.
